Empties- Autumn 2016

I’m back with another empties- and this time I have lots of makeup which never happens.  So I’ll cut the small chat and get straight to the products.

Beauty Blender: OVERHYPED, OVERHYPED, OVERHYPED.  I stored mine the way Beauty Blender recommended and it stated growing mold.  It also developed a horrible smell and every time I cleaned it, the sponge bled pink.  Save your $20 on this one and spring for the Real Techniques sponge. Recommend: NOT EVEN TO MY WORST ENEMY.

L’Occitane Vereine Shower Gel: I found this waiting for me in my shower when I came back from the UK and while I usually love L’Occitane shower gels I didn’t quite gel with this one as much.  The smell was alright and it didn’t do anything special.  Recommend: No.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara: I love Benefit mascara and this one is definitely my favorite- hell it’s probably my favorite mascara of all time.  Recommend: Yes.

Freeman Sweet Tea & Lemon Peel Away Clay Mask: When I first saw this in Ulta I thought the idea of a peel and clay mask in one was great.  Well, this burned my skin like no other so I decided to read the back of the label.  One of the first ingredients in the mask is alochol.  I obviously didn’t finish the product, which is a shame because I hate wasting product, but I don’t want to put something on my face that’s uncomfortable.  Rrecommend: No.

Sleek Borw Kit: If you’re on a budget this is such a great brow kit.  I love Sleek as a brand and this product is no exception.  While I wish they came in a wider range of shades, I could make it work.  Recommend: Yes.

Sephora Rose Sleeping Mask: The sleeping masks from Sephora are a real game changer.  I can get about six uses out of them so it comes to less than a dollar a mask!  I’m just so in love with this mask.  Oh it also smells incredible so bonus points for that.  Recommend: Yes.

Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream: Okay so I’m fairly confident this appeared in an empties a while ago but it’s such a lovely eye cream.  If you have access to this entire range at Superdrug get your hands on it- your skin will thank you.  Recommend: Yes.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer: The internet does not lie on this one, the concealer is the best.  It’s light and does an amazing job covering up dark eyes.  It’s also nice to layer.  Just a great bargain.  Recommend: Yes.

Sleek Brow Definer: I know I just talked about another Sleek brow product but this one is also amazing. Recommend: Yes.

John Frieda Radiant Red Conditioner: My favorite conditioner which is probably why this is far from the first empties this conditioner has been in.  Recommend: Yes.

Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour and Highlight in “Light/Medium”:  A word to the wise: if you are very fair, anything that combines you with medium skin tones isn’t a good idea.  With that said I think if you’re not a super fair person this is a great powder.  The highlight I’m not so crazy about but this contour power is a great deal.  Recommend: Yes.

Asquith & Somerset Pink Grapefruit & Orange Sugar Scrub: This was the best shower scrub I’ve ever used.  My skin felt so soft and my bathroom smelled divine for hours afterwards.  My mom found this at Marshall’s so if you ever see any of the Asquith & Somerset scrubs there, check them out.  Recommend: Yes.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Curella”: This is my perfect deep, winter red.  This lasted me almost 2 years so if you like reds it’s worth the investment.  It’s long wearing and super easy to apply.  The only thing I’m not crazy about is the fact that you have to find a special sharpener for it. Recommend: Yes.

John Frieda Luminious Glaze: Another product that’s seen it’s fair share of empties posts.  So yeah, I love it.  Recommend: Yes.

More Empties: Summer 2016

Okay so I know i just did an empties post a few weeks ago, but somehow I’ve collected so many containers, the Primark bag I house them in ripped!  I’m moving out of my flat in a month (gasp!) so you can expect another empties/products I’m not taking with me post in September.  I’m going to try to keep this empties short and sweet because there’s just so much to get through.  Also apologies for the lack of categories in this empties- I’m just overwhelmed by all the goodies I’ve used in 2 months!

Herbal Essences Silk N’ Shine Conditioner: Like a lot of ladies out there I’ve been using this on and off since oh, 1998?  That should be a good indicator that it’s a favorite product of mine.  Recommend: Yes

Soap & Glory For Daily Youth Face Wash: I used to use Soap & Glory’s blue face wash and I enjoyed it so I thought this one was pretty much the same thing.  To be honest, it didn’t really do much for my face.  It was pretty meh.  Recommend: No

Kiko Hydrating Mask: So this one really isn’t an empty, it just passed its exportation date.  I was really into this mask last autumn but the last few times I used it (before the expiration date) it really stung my face.  Recommend: No

Rimmel Sun Summer Instant Tan Gradual Glow in “Light Matte”: I really loved this product.  I found it never left me orange or streaky and the tan lasted for a long time.  It wasn’t transfer resistant and compared to a lot of other self tanning products it’s really a great deal at the durgstore.  Recommend: Yes

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover Hand & Feet: The concept of this product is great but in reality it’s a mess.  I found it didn’t take polish off well and I had to use the toe sponge to really get everything off.  The more you use it, the more the liquid inside stains and my nails would be left with a weird pink stain.  Recommend: No

American Cream Hair Conditioner: I really wanted to like this because I heard so many good things about it, but it really didn’t do much for my hair.  It does have a lovely smell though.  Recommend: No

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara: This really didn’t do a whole lot for my lashes and smudged throughout the day.  I don’t think that’s a look anyone finds cute.  Recommend: No

Eylure Natural No. 31: Besides the Fleur de Force Eylure Lashes (I’m blanking on the exact pair!) these were the best false lashes I ever used!  They looked so natural but took my look to the next level.  I think I got something like six uses out of them which is pretty fantastic.  Recommend: Yes

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap: Extra Mild: We all have that one cleanser that we come back to and this is that for me.  Recommend: Yes

Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette in “Native”: Old makeup I never really used.  I got this a couple of years ago and I thought the concept was great but after a couple of months I kind of stopped using it.  I think the shades were too dark for my skintone.  Recommend: No

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream: Do I really have to talk about how much I love this again?  Recommend: Yes

Covergirl Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder: A favorite, affordable powder that does exactly what it says.  Does it really get any better than that?  Recommend: Yes

Superdrug Vitamin E Facial Cleansing Wipes: I love this range so much and these wipes are no exception.  I use them after yoga and they smell so nice!  Recommend: Yes

Lush Cup O’ Coffee Face and Body Mask: When I first got this mask I loved it so, so much.  It left my skin feeling super clean and it smells amazing but it clogged my sink so bad!  Cleaning this out of my drain was not a fun time.  Recommend: No

Clinique Facial Mist: My savior for long fights and wintertime since 2013.  Recommend: Yes

Clinique Dream Matte Mousse Foundation: Back in the day I used to really love this foundation.  Now i find it leaves my skin feeling a little oily and it clings to dry patches.  Not really the best look.  Recommend: No

Original Source Skin Quench Shower Gel in “Blackcurrant & Moringa Oil”:  This was a nice shower gel but to be honest it was pretty forgettable.  It smells nice but I’m not sure I would jump up and buy it again.  Recommend: No

Superdrug Simply Pure Micellar Water: This stuff was pretty cheap and did a great job taking off makeup.  I don’t really use micellar water anymore but it did come in handy for swatches.  Recommend: Yes

Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm: I’m still really into this trend for a primer.  Recommend: Yes

Simple Light Mositurizer with SPF 15: I have no idea why I keep buying this if it burns my skin.  Recommend: No

Lush Cynthia Sylvia Stout Beer Shampoo: I have come to the conclusion that Lush hair products and I do not get a long.  This stuff dried out my hair so bad.  Recommend: No

Superdrug Vitamin E Nourishing Eye Cream: Like I said about the face wipes, I love everything I’ve tried from this range.  Recommend: Yes

Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Hand Therapy: I’m always using hand cream and the Crabtree & Evelyn ones are slowly coming for my L’Occitane ones.  They’re super moisturizing without being greasy and smell lovely.  Recommend: Yes

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in “Pink Venus”: This color and formula is stunning.  Well worth the splurge.  Recommend: Yes

Topshop Magic Wear Liquid Eyeliner: This was a great liquid eyeliner that is super affordable.  Recommend: Yes

Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Mascara: A cult favorite I really wanted to love.  Everything about this mascara is a winner except the fact that it smudged a lot.  Maybe i would give this a second change if they made it in a waterproof formula but for now I think I’ll stick to my Roller Lash.  Recommend: No

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in “Nudist”: My all time favorite lip gloss.  Need I say more?  Recommend: Yes

Empties Late Winter 2016

This could very well be my most abitious empties post ever.  To be honest there are a couple of products here that aren’t empty, we just did not get along very well.  I considered doing a makeup I’m getting rid of or donating post in a few weeks but it feels so good to clear out the Superdrug bag under my bathroom sink.  With that said: let’s dive into the goodies.
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical

I really want to love this.  I’ve been using Batiste for a long time but for some reason I haven’t been getting on with the Tropical scent.  Don’t get me wrong I love the smell and packaging but I get halfway through the can and it spraying product.  It’s so bazar.  It’s happened to both cans.  Sigh.

Recommend: No.

Boots Anti Viral Hand Foam

This isn’t the first empties this hand sanitizer has been in.  It’s my favourite hand sanitizer; quick, odourless, and non sticky.

Recommend: Yes.

Pantene Classic Clean Shampoo and Conditioner

I usaully really enjoy Pantene shampoo and conditioner, but for some reason this just my hair look and feel so meh.b I don’t know if the UK formula is different than the USA but this just did not get along with my hair at all.

Recommend: No.

L’Occitane Hand Cream

Another product that’s been in my empties before. I’ll keep it short and sweet: the best.

Recommend: Yes.

CVS Tinted Under Eye Roller

This is a nice eye roller for the morning.  It’s light and really does help with dry circles.  It’s affordable and does the job.  A long time favourite.

Recommend: Yes.

Rimmel Fix and Perfect Primer

I absolutely adored this primer.  It did the job at an extremely affordable price.

Recommend: Yes.

Soap & Glory Soothe Bath Float

I bought this to curb my lush addiction.  While it does smell nice and add some bubbles to your bath it’s really not that great.  It says to use a handful but that did nothing.  It’s a fairly large container and it only lasted me four baths.

Recommend: No.

Sephora Peal Mask

I always pick one of these up when I go to Sephora.  I used this one after my flight from Newark and my skin felt so nice after a long flight,

Recommend: Yes.

Simple Moisturizer

I’ve gone through so many of these in the last few years.  It doesn’t make me greasy or clog my pores.  Sometimes it does burn my skin (sensitive skin grrr) but overall it’s z great drugstore Moisturizer.

Recommend: Yes.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Gloss Mist

This is my holy grail hair product.  I’ve mentioned this a few times but it’s a really fine mist you just spray in your hair.  I like to do a few spritzes st the ends and fluff it out.

Recommend: Yes.

MAC Lipstick in Hot Gossip

I’ve mentioned this so many times in my last few posts.  This is the one that broke but I did replace it.

Reccomend: Yes.

Clinique Syreum

At first I really enjoyed this little sampler.  It made my skin super soft but after a while I stopped noticing a difference.  It’s quite expensive and I’m not sure it really did anything.

Recommend: No.

Borjouis CC Cream

Ugh.  This sat on my skin all funny.  This is the lightest shade and it oxidised so quickly on my skin.  I finished about 2/3 of it before switching back to my Bare Minerals.  Life is too short for bad makeup.

Recommend: No.

Diorshow Mascara in Coffee

This was really having a moment on my blog about six months ago.  It’s a beautiful mascara that stays in place all day.

Recommend: Yes.

Clinique Dramatically Different Mascara

For the first week this was really going well, and then one day it began irritating my eyes so bad.  So yeah, I still don’t like Clinique mascara.

Recommend: No.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

I felt like I was using this concealer for years.  (Okay it was a year but still.). It’s a great formula with nice coverage.  I do prefer the Bobbi Brown one I’m using now but this is a great alternative.

Recommend: Yes.

Kiko Lip Pencil 107

Another product I’ve mentioned a lot on my blog.  I have a backup but I’ve been holding on to this little guy for ages.  It’s the best inexpensive lip liner out there.  I love using this and putting pink shades on top.  A great brown for those of us who are fair skinned or want to dive into the brown trend but aren’t fully committed.

Recommend: Yes.

Rimmel Brow Pencil in Hazel

This was so inexpensive and lasted all freaking day.  I purchased this last March and stopped using it in January so its really a super bargain.  It is quite bold so if you’re looking for something light this might not be your best bet.

Recommend: Yes.

CVS Hair Removal Cream

I think this expired.  I used it for almost two years with no problem, but the last two times I’ve used it I’ve got such bad burns that lasted for a few days.  So, it’s going in the bin.

Recommend: No.

Empties Early Winter 2015

IMG_0677.JPGHello everyone!  I figured since I’m going to visit my mom for the holidays (I’m leaving for the States the day this post goes live) I thought it would be a good time to finally clear out the empties under my sink.

Lush Ro’s Argon Body Conditioner

I’ve definitely spoken about this before as my all time favourite Lush product.  It’s one of my favourite scents and it makes my skin super soft.

Purchase Again: Yes

Lush Love Lettuce Face Mask

I love the smell of Love Lettuce.  It has that pure lavender smell, and it’s so calming.  The only faults I have about this mask is 1) you can only use it for a couple of weeks before it goes bad. 2)It’s an absolute mess.  With that said, I really do enjoy how it makes my skin look and feel.

Purchase Again: Yes.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

Oh man.  I was having a real moment with this earlier in the year.  I absolutely love this stuff.  I  was so sad when this ran out and I thought I would try something new, but it’s not the same.

Purchase Again: Yes

Lush Grease Lightening Tea Tree Cleanser

Sometimes I am prone to hyper pigmentation and acne around my chin.  I thought tea tree oil would calm down my problem areas but this didn’t really do anything for my skin.  It does have a wonderful rosemary scent but that can’t redeem this product at all.

Purchase Again: No

Sephora Fine Line Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

I feel like it’s difficult to find a good waterproof liquid eyeliner.  This one from Sephora is really lovely and I really love the fine tip.  It makes it so easy to apply and you can build up your look.  Since I like a tiny bit of liner this one was perfect.

Purchase Again: Yes

Batiste Dry Shampoo Floral & Fruity Blush

I’m fairly confident this showed up in my first empties.  I love the giant cans because they’re such a good value.  I’m a bit tired of this scent but since I use dry shampoo at night it doesn’t linger throughout the day.

Purchase Again: Yes

Dove Fresh Deodorant

I don’t think I’ve ever put a deodorant in an empties but I found this in my empties bag so here we go.  This had a nice light smell and left me feeling nice and dry all day.

Purchase Again: Yes

Batiste Stylist Texturizing Spray

I never used a texturizing spray today but I figured I would try it.  Sometimes my hair is a bit flat after washing so I thought this would help.  This did nothing for my hair.  Meh.

Purchase Again: No

Charlotte Tillbury Big Fat Lashes Mascara

I heard so many good things about this mascara so I was excited to find this under my Christmas tree last year.  When first applied, it makes your lashes look nice and long.  Unfortunately it smudges throughout the day.  It’s quite expensive and there are so many better mascaras out there for way less.

Purchase Again: No

Charlotte Tillbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Bitch Perfect

My review for this lipstick was my first post ever on this blog!  This has become my favourite lipstick and it is absolutely worth the money.  It’s a beautiful colour and ugh I just love it.

Purchase Again: Yes

Boots Natural Collection Lipstick in Rose Bud

When I first got this I really loved it.  It had a beautiful finish and only cost two quid.  After the fourth use it broke.  I mean, completely fell apart.  I know it was inexpensive but it shouldn’t have happened so fast.

Purchase Again: No

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Nude

Okay so there’s a little of this left but it was getting crummy.  I really love the nude liner trick and it’s been a staple for me all year.  Rimmel’s liner is so affordable and really nice.

Purchase Again: Yes

Georgio Armnai Black Ecstacy Masacara

When I first started using this sample I thought it was the best mascara I’ve ever used.  It left my lashes looking so beautiful.  As time went on it did begin to smudge throughout the day.  Like the Charlotte Tillbury mascara it’s not worth the price.

Purchase Again: No

Primark Cinnamon Maple Candle

This was a pound.  It smells beautiful and burns so well for such a cheap candle.  Unfortunately I have only been able to track down the small size but if you can get your hands on this candle, please do!

Purchase Again: Yes

Wax Lyrcal England Chamomile & Violet Candle

I picked this up in Waitrose to christen my new flat.  It had a nice light smell that drifted into my bedroom and left me feeling nice and calm.  Unfortunately the wick got weird and just stopped burning.  It was a little pricey and definitely not worth the money at all.  Such a disappointment for something that smelled so nice.

Empties Late Summer 2015

I know I just posted an empties, but I wanted to do one before I moved out.  This one isn’t nearly as overwhelming as the last one but there are still some goodies here.

Face Masks

MasksLush Love Lettuce Fresh Face Mask:  This is my favorite face mask from Lush.  It’s smells like straight up lavender and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean.  Purchase again: Yes.

Soap & Glory No Clogs Allowed: I picked this up last year when I was having a serious oil problem with my face.  It really sucks out all the gook on your face.  The mask gets warmer on your skin which is very cool.  I think this was around 11 pounds at Boots, but it lasted me a year so it’s a great value for the product.  Purchase again: Yes.

Sephora Rose Mask:  I always pick up a fiber mask when I go to Sephora and I really enjoyed this one.  It smelled so nice and made my skin feel good.  It says it’s moisturizing and brightening and that’s exactly what it did.  Purchase again: Yes.

Lotions

LotionsL’Occitane Lighter Legs: Oh man I love this stuff.  It’s from their almond range so it has that nice sweet, nutty smell but it’s also very minty.  It’s incredibly cooling on the legs and makes them feel super light.  Purchase again: Yes.

Coppertone Sport Sunscreen in SPF 100+: I couldn’t find my beloved Banana Boat Ultra Defence at ShopRite so I thought’s I’d give this a try.  It was pretty bad.  It was sticky and greasy, and came off instantly in the pool.  I burned for the first time this summer with this stuff- not cool.  I went through this can in about three weeks which is pretty bad.  I do go outside quite a bit in the summer so it usually takes me a little over a month to finish a can like this.  Purchase again: No.

L’Occitane Amande Milk Concentrate:  I think this sampler came with something my sister gave me for my birthday.  It’s a nice almond lotion that I use with the Lighter Legs.  It has the same sweet, nutty smell and it’s just a nice lotion.  Purchase again: Yes.

Shower

ShowerL’Occitane Lavande Shower Gel:  Oh man, did this smell good.  I’ve talked about L’Occitane shower gels before and I really like them.  Unfortunately I left this out in July when my sister had guests over so it was about half empty when I started using it.  It has that pure lavender smell and it leaves the shower smelling great.  Purchase again: Yes.

Tree Hut Detoxifying Mediation Salt Scrub in Fig & Olive:  Of all the empties on my list, I am saddest to be finished with this.  It leaves your skin feeling incredible and it smells incredible.  It’s about eight dollars at Ulta and it’s an absolute favorite of mine.  Purchase again: Yes.

Candles

CandleLavender Lemonade Soy Candle from Target:  I love Target candles, and I’ve never had a problem with any of them until not.  This one smells so, so, so good but it’s not very strong.  It also burned rather quicky which is so unusual for Target candles.  Purchase again: No.

DW Home Remarkable Rose Candle:  I like rose but sometimes it gets too overpowering.  This candle was the perfect rose sent and it lasted for ages.  I love the packaging and if I hope I can find this candle at Home Goods again.  Purchase again: Yes.

Makeup

Makeup*Since I am moving I am getting a rid of a lot of things I don’t use or have expired.  The products included here are empties and not things I was planning on getting rid of*

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch:  After about a year and a half this guy finally broke.  I love Baby Lips but I’m not crazy about the color of this one.  It’s way too Barbie pink and ends up making you look dead.  At least it smells nice.  Purchase Again: No.

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer:  This has become my go to primer.  It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean without drying it out.  It does prolong makeup wear and it’s a great bargain.  Purchase again: Yes.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation: When I first got this I really loved it.  I do have to say the shade selection sucks and they’re all too dark for me.  The last time I used this I noticed it was patching all around my nose.  It’s a shame because I really, really want to like this foundation but I don’t.  Purchase again: No.

Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder:  I’ve gone through three of these in a year and either the powder breaks or the lid breaks.  It’s not worth it.  The more I used this powder the more I realize it sucks.  Purchase again: No.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm: This came in a Christmas sampler and it was love at first use.  It makes my skin feel gorgeous and provides an excellent base for your makeup.  I used this for special occasions because the full size one is pricey, but I do have it on my Christmas list.  Purchase again: Yes.

Empties Summer 2015

I thought by putting a smaller bag under my bathroom sink I wouldn’t have a whole lot of empties, but I was wrong.  Over the last few months I’ve used up a lot of goodies and doozies!  For the most part I’m not including products I used up in my previous empties.  I also decided to break this one up into categories- enjoy!

Face and Body Empties

1) Banana Boat Ultra Defence Sunscreen SPF 110.  This is my absolute favorite sunscreen for the body.  I’ve never burned when using this and it doesn’t make my skin feel greasy or dry.  Would I purchase again: I already have another can in use.

2) Sephora Honey Mask.  The first time I used this mask I found it really bazar and uncomfortable.  I’ve never used a cloth mask before (I’m not sure what to call it) and it kept sliding down my face.  With that said, it smelled wonderful and left my skin feeling rejuvenated.  Would I purchase again: Yes.

3) Simple Oil Balancing Cleansing Wipes.    I use these after workouts.  They do a nice job for a quick pick me up.  Would I purchase again: Always do.

4) Yes to Clear Skin Acne Wipes.  These smell foul.  Like really, really foul.  Since yoga tends to give me an acne problem I though I would try these out.  They did a nice job controlling some acne, but they’re very stripping to the skin; the package even says do not use more than once a day.  Would I purchase again: Probably not.

5) Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water.  I raved about this stuff when I first got it.  I love it so much I got the full size version which has a lovely pump.  It really does a great job removing makeup.  Would I purchase again: I’d go drugstore next time.

6) L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Shower Gel.  My goodness does this smell good!  It’s sweet and floral without being too overpowering.  It also does a nice job at moisturizing and cleaning my skin.  Would I purchase again: Yes.

7) L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil.  I adore this stuff.  It smells wonderful and leaves my skin feeling so soft.  It’s also wonderful for shaving.  Would I purchase again: Yes.

8) L’Occitane Neroll & Orchidee Body Milk.  This smelled so wonderful and felt very light on my skin.  It’s a great base for perfume and overall just a lovely lotion.  Would I purchase again: Not right away but I would come back to this.

Hand Product Empties

Hand Empties

1) Boots Anti Viral Hand Foam.  This is the best hand sanatizer I’ve used.  Period.  Would I purchase again: YES.

2) CVS White Tea Hand Soap.  This stuff smells incredible and the packaging is adorable.  It left my hands feeling clean and the light scent lasted for a while.  Would I purchase again: Absolutely, it’s a bargain!

3) H.L. Apothecary Hand Soap in Lemon Verbena.  Okay so technically I am still using this but the package is empty (it’s in a separate container in my bathroom.)  This smells wonderful and is super moisturizing.  I love the packaging but the pump never worked.  Would I purchase again: If I could find it at HomeGoods again, sure.

4) L’Occitane Rose Hand Cream.  I think these are the best hand cremes and the rose one is my favorite.  Would I purchase again: Yes (but once my stash runs out.)

5) L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream.  See above review.

Hair Empties

Hair

1) Batiste Dry Shampoo.  A favorite of mine.  I think this was in my last empties too.  Would I purchase again: Yes.

2) Pantene Ultimate 10 BB Shampoo and Conditioner.  I found this half empty in my bathroom closet, so I’m assuming my sister left it when she moved out.  Anyway this stuff is wonderful.  It left my hair looking shiny and not stripped.  Would I purchase again: I just did.

3) Dove Volume Dry Shampoo. Sometimes the Batiste dry shampoo can get intense so I thought I’d give this a try.  It smells good, and that’s the only good thing I can say about it.  I didn’t do anything to curb oil.  Would I purchase again: No.

Makeup Empties

Makeup

1) Rimmel Lipstick in Piccadilly Pink.  I absolutely adored this when I first bought it; in fact I’m pretty sure this is my fourth post with this lipstick!  It’s a beautiful, everyday pink.  Unfortunately the formula is so creamy it melts.  This isn’t an empty really, more than half the product is left but it’s so unusable I have to chuck it.  Would I purchase again: No.

2) Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in East End Snob:  I think I purchased this two months ago and it’s already empty.  It’s not that I used it a whole lot (I did- kind of) it just breaks so easily.  The color and formula is nice and a great budget alternative.  Would I purchase again: Probably not.

3) Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder.  Oh man, what a great sample from Sephora.  I absolutely love this powder!  It’s amazing for oily skin.  I used it on long days out and my skin felt silky smooth all day.  Would I purchase: Yes, worth the splurge.

4) Benefit They’re Real! Mascara.  I’ve spoken about this mascara before.  It (was) my favorite mascara.  It’s long lasting and very easy to work with.  Would I purchase again: Yes, but not for a while (I have a lot of free samples to go through first.)

5) Soap & Glory Supercat Felt Tip Liner.  This was a freebie in Boots back in November.  When I first applied it I really liked the product; easy to use, nice and black.  I made the worst decision ever and wore this for the first time to a performance of Les Miserables.  That is how I learned this is not waterproof- it’s actually horrible in that aspect.  Over time, I became less and less satisfied with this.  It faded quickly and left “tracks” on my eyelids. Would I purchase again: No.

Other Empties

Other

1) ELF Daily Brush Cleaner.  Aw man, was I disappointed when I learned ELF changed their brush cleaner.  Their gel cleaner was incredible and cost three dollars; it lasted me two years!  At first I liked the spray cleaner but I went through it in about six months.  It has a really foul smell that lingers, but at three dollars it’s a good deal for a decent brush cleaner.  Would I purchase again: No.

2) Target Signature Soy Candle in Vintage Lace.  One of my first (and most viewed) posts was on how much I love Target’s own brand of candles.  This one smelled so lovely, very sweet but with a hint of floral and vanilla.  I think these candles are an absolute bargain and some of the best on the market.  Would I purchase again: ABSOLUTELY.

Empties Spring 2015

So I’ve been hoarding a bag of empty products under my sink (well in our spare bedroom because my bathroom is undergoing a renovation) for a while now and I thought it was time to finally do an empties post!  I do admit I’m not covering everything I had in my empties bag because it would have been extremely overwhelming.  I had a lot of samples so I figured I’d post on the full size things I had.  Enjoy!

Soap & Glory
Soap & Glory Righteous Body Butter

Soap & Glory Righteous Body Butter: I picked this little guy up at Boots back in November and I instantly fell in love.  It smells sweet but not childish.  It was incredibly moisturizing and something I will definitely repurchase; it’s my new go to body lotion!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation: This

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

was my go to foundation for a couple of years.  It’s a great medium coverage foundation that lasts all day and leave a natural finish.  I love the packaging and Urban Decay has a massive color range.  Even though I loved this stuff for years I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this anytime soon.  I used the second lightest shade and it was a bit too pink on my skin.  Overall a great product I would recommend.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer: I hoarded these back to the USA.  This is the perfect everyday concealer, strong coverage and a bit of highligher.  I do wish Rimmel made a lighter shade because it can look a wee bit dark under my eyes in the winter months.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Perfume: Love. Love. Love. Love.  I got this for

Christmas in 2013 and it was my go to scent for any occasion.  It’s feminine and overall just a lovely scent.  I will be asking Santa for this again.

Marc Jacobs Honey Body Lotion
Marc Jacobs Honey Body Lotion

Marc Jacobs Honey Body Lotion: I also have the perfume to this and it’s perfect for the warmer months.  Marc Jacobs makes some of the best lotion out there in my opinion.  I love pairing this with rose scented perfumes for the perfect honey rose combination.

Sleek Eyebrow Pencil

Sleek Eyebrow Pencil: This is one of those

products that changed my life.  I love the color payoff (I use Medium) and the little brush on the end makes it perfect for travel.

John Frieda Radiant Red Shampoo & Conditioner

John Frieda Radiant Red Shampoo & Conditioner: I’ve raved about this before so I’ll keep it short and sweet: favorite.

Soap & Glory Face Clarity: I used this as a

gentle exfoliant in the shower and it left my skin feeling so soft and fresh.  Like all my other Soap & Glory stuff this is from Boots so I’m not sure how easy this is to get my hands on in the USA.  I will definitely purchase this again, even if I have to wait until September.

The Square Mile
Everyday Luxe Candle: London The Square Mile

Everyday Luxe Candle in  London The Square Mile: My sister got me this candle for Christmas and I was sad to finish it.  It’s just a very clean smelling white candle that lasts for a long time.  I burned this throughout the winter and it just left my room smelling lovely throughout the day.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: This stuff is great.  I

use it at night so my hair isn’t so white in the morning.  I do wish the larger were sold in the USA though…

John Frieda Luminous Glaze: Posted about this before.  It’s fantastic and a staple in my haircare routine.

Soap & Glory Shampoo andConditioner: This stuff smells so good!  I likedit but it didn’t do anything special for me.

Biore Charcoal Pore Strips

Biore Charcoal Pore Strips: I thought these would be a gimmick but they really do work better than the original pore strips.  I will be picking up another box soon.

Laura Mercier Bubble Bath
Laura Mercier Bubble Bath

Laura Mercier Bubble Bath: This has to be the most over hyped bath product of all time.  I though I’d treat myself to this since I love a good bath.  It smells nice and the packaging is very pretty (the little honeycomb wand is adorable) but wow what a waste of money!  The amount of product I had to use to get the result I wanted was shameful and the bubbles didn’t even last.  Do not buy this there are better products out there for cheaper.

…and that’s it!  Next time I’m using a smaller bag for empties 🙂
